Unfolding Visions is an exhibition of recent paintings by local artist, Margot Waller Madgett. Contemporary abstracts and dream-inspired paintings that blur perceptual boundaries, weaving abstract elements and visual cues into narratives that invite diverse interpretations. Margot’s “Dream series” and her “Through the Reeds” textured, layered abstracts with vibrant colors inspired from natural environments seek to balance the hectic pace of contemporary culture.
Margot’s paintings are intimate, introspective expressions that convey eloquence, a quiet refinement of color, and maturity of expression, while maintaining a sense of intrigue. “Margot’s work is best described in contrasting terms, eclectic, raw and refined, as these styles are a constant in all her work.” Art Consultant, Betsy Lane.
Artist, mother, and Cardiff resident for over thirty years. Margot was born on Guam and raised in San Diego. Margot has exhibited extensively throughout southern California and is in corporate and private collections across the country and abroad. Waller works with Interior Designers and is well-known for her commission work of contemporary portraits she coined “Art Image Portraiture” of children and animals.
